Make Your Blog A Money Making Machine?
Why is it that many businesses do not generate traffic online and the online business fails within 12 months? I have always said to keep your website updated at all times. But, are there other reason behind this. Is it because of very bad web design, very cheap hosting, or poor online marketing? Many new webmasters set themselves up to fail from the very beginning and don’t even knowing it. If you’re new to web design and online marketing that’s okay. There are some basic things you can do. There are several tips I can give you to help you on your way to being successful. Given the opportunity you should consider all that I say to help you become more successful. Use all these web design tips and use them to your advantage. If you don’t have a website, my recommendation is to get a professional website designer to help you design your first website.
Tip 1: Streamline Your Website!
When starting a new web site you should focus on streamlining new products and services after you develop quality content. Develop your quality content first and then worry about where to place your products and services last. In addition, before you start creating a ton of web-pages, you should map out the first 100 to 200 web pages of your website. Structure your website in a way that it makes sense to visitors, bots, spiders, and search engines. Furthermore, when mapping your website out on paper; consider using broad keywords in your website navigation area and use specific keywords in the sub-navigation website pages.
Tip 2: Design Your Website Around Your Content!
For some odd and old reason, even the very best online web design professionals don’t get this concept right. Designing your web site around the content is the only way to design the best website concept in the first place. Do not do this the other way around. Remember, content is what drives online traffic to your website. Publishing qualitycontent may take some effort and time, but it will pay off in the end. Quality content will always last if it is relevant to your online market. I have always used one rule, publish one good quality article a day and share it on your social networks. Tell people about your quality content; send emails to get the word out. In no-time at all you should have links pointing at you. Twitter is another great way to update people on what you are doing in your world. Twitter is also a great marketing tool to help promote your web site’s quality content.
Tip 3: Generate Traffic From Different Sources!
So, how do you generate traffic to your online website? Using additional 25 – 50 web sources can improve your website traffic 1500% or more depending on what your marketing strategy is setup for. For example, I like to use social online networks, blogs, press releases, article marketing, and word of mouth will help promote our website fast and easy. Shouldn’t you be doing the same? I also use Google AdWords, Yahoo, Bing and MSN for paid web advertising. Moreover, you may also use offline advertising as well. Placing a local ad in your towns newspaper can also spark some interest for your company’s products and web services.
Its Chess Not Checkers!
If you remember nothing else; remember this important point, “web design is not a means to an end.” Meaning, you can design your home web page a million times and still get the same bad results. Why do I say this? The answer is simple; if you are not publishing new content to your website, then who cares about your home page that has change a thousand times within that last year! Not to mention you the wasted time in designing. Don’t design and re-design your website every week. Focus on your key message and create new and exciting web page full of good old quality content and you should do great! Remember, it’s a business and not a hobby! Don’t give up! Keep pushing forward!
